At its beginning in 1987 Restoration Church was envisioned by its founders as a place of healing. That has proven true as countless lives have been changed by the power of God over the last twenty years. Originally named 'Restoration Fellowship of Mount Carmel' it found its meager beginnings in the town meeting hall of Mount Carmel, Tennessee. In 1989 Restoration moved to the present location, the historic Strand Theatre.

What a sight the theater was, having been closed for many years. It wore the years of movie going with obvious abuse. Orginally built in 1925 as a performing arts theater the building still possessed the wonderful character of that by-gone era, under all of the layers of popcorn grease. Pastor Terry Whitson, his wife Debbie and the saints of Restoration rolled up their sleeves and waded into what would be a never ending project that has revealed the grace of a time long past.

As beautiful as the building is, Restoration isn't about real estate, but about its people and about the Jesus that they serve. The ministries of Restoration have reached beyond the sixteen inch brick walls of the building and into every corner of the globe.
